~Safe Routes to School Study~

Paradise Honors Elementary School is embarking on a Safe Routes to School Study to promote walking and biking to school, if applicable. As part of that effort, traffic data will be collected to count vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian interactions at intersections. Small low-resolution video cameras will be placed on City streetlight poles near the intersections along Mountain Vista Blvd, Paradise Ln, and Reems Rd near the school. Individual and vehicle identities will not be tracked and video footage will only be used for the purpose of obtaining traffic and crossing counts. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.

In addition to the traffic counts, part of the Safe Routes to School study includes a survey for parents to submit. The survey is meant to gauge how students currently get to and from school, as well as identify barriers facing families that may prevent students from walking or biking to school. The survey is available in English and Spanish. Please complete the survey before the end of the week. Thank you for your participation and providing your input! We are excited to take part in this study and learn how we can best encourage active transportation to our school.
